Difference between the router’s Anti Virus and Yoggie’s Anti Virus

Some secured routers offer additional security applications including Anti Virus and Anti SPAM, but their protection is really partial and ineffective even against regular non-sophisticated threats. The Anti Virus is implemented by scanning the packets as they go in and out of the router. The problem is that the antivirus engine lacks a “file perspective”. It can therefore miss “hidden” or spoofed file types.
Yoggie’s technology can stop even the most sophisticated threats. It scans any file and proxy object (terminated using the proxies) to determine its true file type. It does not trust the file declarations and scans the content of the file. Using an internal rule base, it concludes the actual file type based on its content.
